27 Days to the Grand Opening of the Point Roberts Makers Guild. Our shop + community room will be open starting July 4.
Wow. Opening day is coming fast. I am filled with gratitude for everyone who has been pitching in to help us open our doors. In the past few months we’ve really felt the generosity of this community- with equipment donations, volunteer time, feedback, time, and treasure!
Mostly, I am so grateful to be spending time with other people who also see that a positive future for Point Roberts is possible. Thank you.
The makers guild is meant to uplift local expertise, talents, and skills in numerous ways, and as such there are numerous ways for you to participate:
First, consider becoming a member!
Tier 3 Supporting Memberships are only $10 a month, great for those who want to use the community room for attending (or leading!) workshops and events, or those who want to show their art in a community show
The creatively inclined (artists yes, but also authors, musicians, hand-crafters, t-shirt and souvenir designers and more) can apply to sell their wares in our shop. Work ten hours monthly to receive the best membership pricing ($20 a month, and 20% sales commission), with two other choices for those who want to sell in the store without working shifts.
Online payment option coming soon! Membership dues and commission fees cover rent, utilities, equipment, marketing, card payment processing and other operational expenses.
Secondly, our Community room is looking a little bare! Help us get the word out to local and regional artists to apply for our monthly shows! While Point Robert artists will be prioritized, all are welcome to apply for our rotating monthly shows. There is no cost to apply or show your work, and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Volunteer for the solstice weekend work-party! We will be deep cleaning, assembling furniture and setting up store displays, hanging art and signage, and more. Saturday June 20 12-6pm, Sunday June 21st 1-4pm. If you would like to come support for an hour or two, contact me at 425-238-0832 (text or whatsapp).
